We Will Rock You - The Musical

The VIO L1610 system used as Main allows us to achieve coverage and linearity even in the most complex situations. The monitoring is all by VIO X205, a pleasant new feature introduced this year in our setup, which made the stage cleaner. Bringing the sonic impact of a show like this both in Italian-style and modern theaters is an ongoing challenge. Still, the VIO L1610 remains a certainty."

——Thomas Macdonald [MusicLab Milano PA Man and Sound engineer]

For years, We Will Rock You - The Musical, written by Ben Elton and Queen and directed by Michaela Berlini, has been collecting sold-outs and receiving international critical acclaim. Majestic, colorful, and powerful, the show has the task of bringing to the stage an original story rich in values and universal topics, and it does through explosive choreography, but, above all, with the solemn music of the great British rock band. To amplify its envolving high-intensity, the MusicLab Milano Company was called in to create an acoustic project based on to the needs of the venues and the production.

"The biggest challenge remains to give the same sound experience to everyone who comes to see the show. Since this is a theatrical show played live, sound reinforcement plays a critical role for both the audience in the auditorium and the performers on stage," says Thomas Macdonald of MusicLab Milano, PA Man and sound engineer for the entire WWRY 2023/2024 production.

From Feb. 1st to Feb. 11th, WWRY stopped at Teatro Nazionale in Milan. For the gigs, the company supplied and deployed a sound system consisting of the following units:
Main PA: 24 VIO L1610s

Subs: 8 VIO S218s
Central cluster: 4 VIO L208s

Front fills: 6 VIO X205s

Side fills: 4 VIO X205s
Monitoring and Control: 1 AC26N + 1 control8 + Aurora Net software
