On March 26th, DMT held a DPA seminar in cooperation with the Stage Art Committee of Shanghai Performance Technology Association, Shanghai Wenjian Audio-Video Equipments Co. Ltd. and DPA Microphones.



DPA Microphones’ regional sales director, Ken Kimura, gave an informative presentation to the audience. Topics included:

• Introduction to DPA Microphones and its product range


• Getting the right microphone


• Live vs. studio miking


• Directional vs. omindirectional


• Dynamic vs. condenser microphone


• Small vs. large diaphragms


• Evaluating your microphone


• Stereo and surround recording solutions from DPA Microphones

A live guitar demo was conducted during the seminar with various DPA microphone solutions such as the 4099G as well as tips on microphone placements. Every attendee received a Chinese version of the “DPA Microphone University – The Essentials”, available for download here.





The successful seminar was concluded with a Q&A session.




Other equipments used in the seminar included, Genelec speakers, Optocore fibre network system, Yamaha console, HHB CD players and recorders.
