West Virginia Radio Corporation
Standardizes On Omnia A/XE

West Virginia Radio Corporation ( has chosen Omnia A/XE audio processing software as the standard Internet stream processor for all 26 of their radio stations West Virginia and Maryland.

"We chose Omnia A/XE because of the great success with have experienced with Omnia processors, which we have at every one of our stations," says Chris Moran, Chief Audio Engineer for the group. "We first installed Omnia A/XE at our station in Charleston. The results were so impressive that we standardized on Omnia A/XE at all of our stations."

Continues Chris: "We noticed, as others have, that people are consuming streams in more critical listening environments, such as component stereo setups, in-car, and with quality earbuds. There is much less margin for error than before, when people played streams on low-end laptop speakers. Before, we had leveling issues and experienced annoying artifacts, but with Omnia A/XE all levels are constant, and artifacts are imperceptible."

Omnia A/XE can process audio for a variety of applications, bitrate-reduced and linear. It runs in the background as a Windows? service, can be fully-managed and configured remotely with a web browser, and can even process and encode multiple streams in various formats simultaneously.

Omnia A/XE lets uers encode directly to MP3 or AAC, feed a Shoutcast-style or Windows Media Server in the MP3 format, or stream to Adobe Flash clients through a Wowza Media Server. You can also pair Omnia A/XE with your existing Windows Media, Real, mpgPRO or MP3 streaming encoder.
