With "desolation" as its canvas, Chen Chusheng’s "Wasteland of Wonders" 2025 Tour appears desperate and bold on the surface, but it is actually yet another testament to his powerful inner strength—when you are in a wasteland, every direction leads to an open field.

Noble decadence, restrained elegance, low-key rebellion, gentle wildness... just as all opposites find a comfortable, self-consistent harmony within Chen Chusheng and his music, he hopes that through this exploration of "desolation," everyone can become an optimistic and brave creator. He wishes for every individual to find their own answers in the "wasteland," construct their own wonderland, and let the most resilient flowers bloom atop the desolation.

This tour is not only a comprehensive showcase of Chen Chusheng’s musical talent, but also a soulful and profound dialogue between him and his fans. As the lights shine bright and the melodies begin, the audience waves their glow sticks, cheering and supporting Chen Chusheng with their voices and applause. In that moment, we are not just spectators, but active participants and witnesses to this magnificent musical feast.

For this tour, the FOH sound system utilizes one SSL L550 Plus and one L100 mixing console from Solid State Logic (a brand under Digital Media Technology Co. Ltd. / DMT), paired with two LIVE ML I.32 and LIVE ML 32.32 stageboxes. Incorporating SSL's pioneering SuperAnalogue™ technology and a high-precision 96kHz audio sampling rate, the setup provides a rock-solid foundation and impeccable sonic performance for the concert's audio production.

FOH Engineer Lin Zhemin successfully "brought the mixing studio to the live stage"—integrating up to 40 channels of analog hardware and modules into the live sound production. To bridge the analog hardware and the digital console, the top-tier German audio device DirectOut ANDIAMO was deployed. Using just a 1U ANDIAMO converter, 32 channels of analog outboard gear were seamlessly connected to the SSL L550 Plus console via high-quality AD/DA conversion.

For signal connectivity, all analog outboard gear utilizes DB25 cables to route audio signals directly into the ANDIAMO converter. Between the ANDIAMO and the SSL L550 digital console, a single MADI fiber optic cable is all it takes to deliver the signals to the desk. Optional connection methods also include MADI BNC, RAVENNA/AES67, Dante, or SoundGrid.

The tour utilizes the ANDIAMO converter to perform AD/DA conversion at a 96kHz sampling rate, achieving an ultra-low round-trip latency of less than 1ms while meeting the demand for pristine, Hi-Res audio quality.

The implementation of the DirectOut ANDIAMO vastly improves system connection accuracy and operational efficiency. Furthermore, features like its dual power supplies, automatic main/backup signal switching, and EARS™ technology guarantee the stability and safety of the entire audio system and signal transmission.

The FOH sound system for this tour is also configured with an SSL Fusion, SSL 500 Series modules, and a UAD-2 Live Rack, delivering a more diverse, stylized, and artistic presentation to the audience.

During the acoustic Unplugged segment of the show, DPA 4099 microphones were used for all seven string instruments and the conga drums. The DPA 4099 mic series delivers a crisp, transparent sound quality that preserves the authentic dynamics of the instruments. Simultaneously, they effectively reject background noise and stage bleed, ensuring pristine clarity for both recording and live performance, which ultimately guarantees the quality of the show.
